Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard career seems to extend at Stamford
Bridge beyond next month and into another season as there is willingness
from the club to offer him a one-year extension, once the new manager Jose
Mourinho is likely to place in next season.
On the one year deal I believe that the pay scale of the
midfielder will be same as it was before. The announcement of the new extended
contract will be made after the end of this season and it is most likely to
occur when the new manager arrives. The leader candidate for the manager post
is Jose Mourinho who naturally supports any deal made over Frank
Lampard career at Stamford Bridge. It is also believed that Mourinho
will discuss over the contract extension of Frank Lampard at his
first press conference.
Recently Mourinho in a TV interview said Chelsea
as his special club and said, “I want to be there, where people love me to be”.
If Lampard’s contract is extended by one year then it is likely
to break the record 202 goal of Bobby Tambling. Lampard
is just one goal short to reach the record of Bobby Tambling.
He scored his 200th goal with Chelsea in the match against West
ham united and after a goal drought of 6 games he finally scored his 201st
goal in the match against Swansea city through penalty.
Earlier his contract extension was refused by Chelsea
owner Roman Abramovich. But he had shown some interest in this
midfielder at a press conference and likely to extend his contract. If he had
not reviewed over his contract the Lampard has only six matches
to make a record. He is not included in the starting XI of Chelsea in
match with FC Basel at the second leg of Europa League as Rafael
Benitez is rotating the squad and giving chance to other players.
Like Lampard Chelsea captain John
Terry’s contract will end by the end of next season. And as Terry
said he won’t play with any other English club other than Chelsea, these
both legends are likely to retire at the same time next season.
